2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Locke said on his lates podcast that Walker will not be able to shoot NBA 3s because he shoots it on the way down.

This kinda limits his ceiling right?

That’s really alarming imo.
Uhhh, I dont think that's true?

Granted I havent watched every single release, but I just watched some and I didnt see it.

Slow the video down to half speed, pause at when he releases the ball. It looks to be at the top of jump to me. Same with the other 3s from this game.

He could smooth out his release a bit and that could help him extend his range, but his base form is solid.

Have we been lied to?

Whenever I see a GG interview he seems pretty humble and chill. It's hard to imagine what him interviewing poorly exactly entails.

It was pretty wild when he took the bong rip at the end of the interview though.

I’m guessing the questions a team asks are a bit harder than the soft ball questions he gets in these types of interviews… when does he go back in your top 10?

I'll probably throw him back in somewhere in the first round at some point. Probably not lottery, but more in my 16-25 range.

I do think there could possibly be some smokescreen action with teams really playing up how bad he interviews.

Locke watched one game that Walker played in. He is not a great evaluator of talent.

My favorite is when he listed the reasons why the Heat were done, and how what they were doing was "unsustainable," 2 series ago.

His stats are decent, his eye test sucks. He only has good observations when Booner tells him what is up.

Booner is the dude who told him about the thing OL said lmao

I mean you may get a better deal trading the picks in the draft than waiting for a star to become available. There is no guarantee that the star will be a fit for the steep price we will pay. If you can get a potential all-star for that Laker's pick you take it.

The thing about a "disgruntled" all-star is that they are disgruntled.
The "star" you use the picks to trade for is also older and WAY more expensive. If Cam is to be a star in the league then its a much better use of assets to trade up and pick him. Not disgruntled, WAY cheaper contract, would cost less assets, is younger, have control of him for WAY longer. Im getting to the point of being all in on trading up for Cam.
