2023 NBA Draft Megathread

Not only that but Bilal wasnt there at 9, and he was higher than Hendricks on our big board.

BPA at 9 was probably Keyonte George.
I think 90% of the guys I see complaining about were picked ahead of Hendricks. Just weird to say we missed on the pick and the cost to move up was too high.

Its also the week before Thanksgiving and the kid didn't even get to play summer league and he's written off as a loss by some posters I guess. Sad.

Yeah we all agree its not looking great, but I'm not onboard of labeling him as bust.

Its also funny that had we picked George at #9 (was 10 on our big board) and Hendricks at #16 this conversation would be totally different.

I think the one guy besides Key that went after Hendricks is Cason. There is a chance if you take Cason at 9 that Keyonte isn't there at 16. Like I'd rather have Key and Taylor. No one was taking like Jaime Jaquez at #9 ya know.

I wasn't bitching though... I was putting a suggestion in the suggestion box.

Its just funny to give the FO a pass for not moving up because the prices was crazy and then lament the Hendricks pick with Bilal gets 10/8 in another Wizards blow out (this paragraph is bitching about bitching).

Yeah, thought it was a bit odd he gave the FO a pass for that. Playing both sides.

I don't think its looking bad personally. Its not as good as I hoped but we have the most limited sample almost imaginable and its a mixed bag.

He would not have been there though and yes it would be looked at differently.

Yeah, this is true. Every other scenario we likely miss out of Keyonte or don’t take him because we already took a guard.

Some people just want to complain... I know I am related to all of them.

Not silly at all. Missing on the 9th pick is pretty huge regardless of hitting on the 16th pick. It's probably silly to be doing it this early, but being silly is fun.
As if 9th picks always hit or something lol.
We missed on the #3 pick (kanter) and #5 pick (exum) pretty spectacularly and ended up with the number 1 seed in the west and best record in the nba a few years later. Everything is going to be ok if we missed on the 9th pick folks. And that is still an "if" in the first place.

I think just the disappointing part to me is I thought Hendricks was a little bit more plug and play than he is.
I did too but more in a way of just sitting in the corner on offense and focusing on defense and shooting when you are open. I think he could do some version of that at the midpoint of the season. Losing summer league hurts but I think we gotta give him 10-15 G league games to get comfortable out there. Its just weird to give THT a 6 year runway and so much patience while simultaneously seeing Taylor for 5 minutes and declaring him a bust.
