2 of those picks are heavily protected so they won't get them

What are you talking about? Our own pick isn’t protected. The Wolves pick isn’t protected. The first we got for Royce will almost certainly come from Philly and isn’t protected. The Knicks own 1st has no protections. And the Mavs 1st is only top 10 protected.

I thought he was referring to trading with the Knicks to get all 4 of their 1sts, two of which are heavily protected

The problem as I see it isn't in pick protection, but rather in pick placement. Wolves pick - likely mid-late 20's. Sixers, same. Now if we get the Knick's picks, they stand a good chance to be in the lottery, and ours will be fringe lottery, maybe. So we end up, maybe, with one pick in the lottery, and 3 in the late teens to late 20's. Hopefully we can bundle them together and move up, or something. Because the likelihood of our savior coming from those picks is slim.

Mid to late 20’s for the Wolves is being very hopeful imo. I think there is a decent chance it doesn’t go well there.

Who are the Wolves better than in the West? The Warriors, Grizzles, Clippers, Nuggets, Mavericks, and Suns will all be better.
