2023 NBA Free Agency Thread

It is hyper focus that is the NBA. He is a jokester and a truth teller. When the locker room fell apart who did you think got into the face of each player? Quinn? Clarkson? I would not worry about. He is still a great player and great guy but having Joe around would under cut Hardy a little bit on handling tough situations.
Oh I’m not saying we should’ve brought him back at all, it was just shocking to hear Spence and Monson both agree that he actually isn’t at all who we think he is, that he wasn’t even remotely close to being the locker room leader he was made out to be, and even said they’ve heard multiple things about him that they couldn’t share on air and then quickly changed the subject before diving deeper in to it.

No, there's some stuff out there that he treated people in the organization (non players) very poorly. Also apparently he would try and hook up with women who worked for the Jazz. Idk how all true this stuff is, but it was what was going around.
Yeah, don't buy that one for a minute.

Our heroes are rarely who we think they are.

Bro, he’s got a wife and a son with autism.. I don't think he could around hitting on women without getting slapped.

They often say "don't meet your heroes", but sometimes what the media hears isn't the truth of things. Exhibit A: Jimmy Butler. Dude got blamed for a ton of dysfunction in Minne and Philly, but history seems to show different.
True. And, often, people change. Both could be true.

I have heard this as well. It was from places that really had no reason to lie about it.

I heard it as well. Would bet there is some truth to it sadly.

Other than the JC extension it will be radio science for us in the FA market.

The trade market is being aggressively explored with much more fluid timing.

Team wants to win next season and we have a ton of draft capital/flexible contracts. It’s really quite exciting.
So we trading for Immanuel Quickley huh?

I figured the remaining space was for a JC extension and we d make a move elsewhere.

The deal I’m waiting for is the Donte to the Knicks. When that happens I bet we see a trade. The only thing I saw that happened today that bummed me out was Monte Morris to the Pistons. He was traded for peanuts and is a very nice solid player.

Our transactions are likely down the road a bit in FA as teams work through their options.

Not saying it couldn't, but I've learned to trust my judgment.

Familial experience has taught me that public perceptions are sometimes not correct. I'll just say my step father was an psychologically abusive alcoholic and my mother's mother-in-law was THE most inconsiderate ***** this side of Peggy Bundy. When they died, everyone was singing their praises like they were angels while it took everything I had to not bust a gut in their middle of their services. Literally, my mother and I took turns glancing at the other daring each other to lose it.

Generally speaking though, those instances I get from Joe are that he wasn't a womanizer or anything else along those lines. Probably a bit of a Grady to folks and certainly rubbed some folks the wrong way, but I do think he tried to keep his pants on.
