2024-2025 Tank Race

We need like 5-10 more minutes of Cody Williams. Having him as a starter was pretty helpful in tanking those lineups. Need no Juzang and 5 minutes less of JC so Brice can play. Time for DA to lock in and help pull the plug.

I think last game Juzang was a negative out there. It seemed Hardy put him on early and once he saw Johnny aint hitting his shots today he went with Cody instead, who shoots less and defends better.

I'm telling ya... Hardy isnt 100% committed to the cause.

Yeah, Juzang's defense seems really bad to me.

We are doing this wrong, what the actual ****?? THREE wins, already? With the 6'ers letting everything slide and winning the race. This sucks. They will end up with another top 3 pick to put alongside Embiid and we will try to find ways to praise an over-achiever at pick #9 yet again. **** me.

He shouldn’t be 100% committed to producing losses. He did allocate 40%ish of rotation minutes to young players. Tanking isn’t fully on the coach. All he can do is play the young players and he’s doing that for the most part. In his position he kinda has to be a little wishy washy. Maybe no Eubanks minutes. Somehow Cody absorbs those.

DA probably just has to make a move if he can. Or a legitimate injury helps thin the herd.

Most likely so. Clarkson seems to be much improved from the guy we saw last year and last game he absolutely won it like it was 2022-23 again. That was one of my top worries, that 2023-24 was an outlier bad season and he gets back to being the flamethrower again (like last night).

Our net rating is still trash. We won 2 games by a combined 3 points. Its really early obviously but if 1 or both of those games go the other way we are dead last in the league.

Yeah, people need to relax a bit. It's a good thing the Jazz arent pathetically bad and with that comes some close wins. There will still be a lot of losses.
And the truth is that Mavs team was as casual as I have seen. Last play was one of many. I’m always a little shocked when teams don’t press up into our ball handlers but I think they thought they could play in tuxedos and get a win. We also shot the ball well. May regret a couple of these wins later in the season but we still very much in on the tank.

The Mavs 5-7 and missing two starters on the road including their best player this season. Maybe the Jazz aren’t the worst team of all time like in the first few games, but that wasn’t exactly a statement win. Anytime this Jazz team doesn’t get blown out I see “we’re actually a good team”.

Yeah they suck in close games too so far this season. I have been arguing with a dude all year on twitter who literally said the offense is steadied now and we should be like the 20th worst offense now and not the 30th... so it will be .500 ball from here on out. I was like wait... 20th best offense and a bottom 5 defense means .500 ball in the West. We sure about that?

IF the JCs keep playing like they did last night they both improve their value to a point we can move them. If Key and Flip are actually good then its a good thing.
