2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

David Locke is trying to sell his listeners on Devin Carter and Stephon Castle. His argument for Castle is that Marcus Smart couldn't shoot either.

He’s one of the hardest to peg a spot on. Does Charlotte draft him with having Mark Williams? Does Houston like the fit with Sengun? I could see Washington drafting him though. 9 is his absolute floor I think though.
I think Houston is going to try and trade sengun.

I can definitely get behind Devin Carter. Hard to imagine he falls out of the lottery post combine measurements/performance. Clear "low floor" guy and I'm a self-confessed plus wingspan slut.

I'll add him onto the (exceedingly short) list of guys I'd be somewhat excited about.

You the only one who ain't sold

I'm not all that passionate about this draft, or what the Jazz are doing right now. But that said, the Jazz just dumped Ochai Agbaji-- an uber-athletic, 3D wing with elite measurables--because he didn't make enough shots. He was a throw-in with Olynyk for the 29th pick in this draft. The Jazz move on from guys who can't shoot well enough, whether it's Agbaji, Nickeil, Vanderbilt, Bolmaro, Josh Christopher, etc. I think the Jazz have a high requirement for shooting the ball across the board, and I have a hard time believing the Jazz would make Castle a priority. It wouldn't surprise me if the Jazz took Kyshawn George ahead of Castle, tbh.

I wanted to believe in Castle as an on-ball creator, but I just don't see it.

If I were the Jazz, I'd try to swap our picks 10, 29 with Charlotte's picks 6, 42. I'd be looking for Cody Williams at 6 and AJ Johnson or Nikola Djurisic at 42. Maybe we can keep 32 or use it in another trade.

Guys who I think are definitely gone before #10: Sarr, Risacher, Topic, Clingan, Williams.
Other guys who are probably gone before #10: Buzelis, Knecht. (I'm tempted to put Sheppard here as well.)
Three of these guys should be there at #10: Sheppard, Holland, Dillingham, Castle, Salaun.
Other possibilities at #10: Carter, George
