2024 NBA Draft Mega Thread

Tony Jones thinks Dillingham needs to reach Trae Young levels of offensive production to offset how awful his defense is.
People are really underestimating how bad it is. Most small guys like DIllingham are tough, have great instincts on D, and are thicker. It's going to be so bad it might be a situation where he struggles to ever get on the court.

I thought of another one, C) teams might have a hard time agreeing on value in this draft. Some teams might want a discount to move up based on the perceived weakness of the draft and other teams might want to be compensated similarly to other drafts.
My thought is it will be easier to move into the top 5 if you want to. Like if we came with #10 and a 2025 pick I think we could get to #3 and def could get to #5. Last year price would have doubled. Outside of that I am not sure the picks will flow like wine. I think picks 20-40 will be a cluster F of movement though and much of it will be about money/cap management.

What do you mean by this? Plenty of rookies have been positive players for the teams they play for. Specifically older players and low usage players, which there could be a lot of in this draft.
Rookies dont help you win. You can take any rookie in this draft and put them in positions to help your team lose. Yes, some upperclassmen, like a Baylor Scheirman, could help the right team win when he is placed in teh correct role, but he's not going to make any team better across the board.

I think a lot of teams want to get off their picks and so it seems like there will be lots of opportunities for trades, but I'm just thinking out loud with these posts that maybe we don't actually see that many.
