2025 All Time Bad Utah Jazz Draft (SIGN UP, BETTER THAN THEE JAZZ FAN"S DRAFT)

Im going to organize a new draft. The goal of the draft will be to form the worst possible Jazz team made up from former (or current as sadly a number of players on the roster would make great picks) Jazz players.

We will only draft 5 players. Each team must loosely follow actual team construction (at least one PG and Center). You cant draft 5 really bad centers.

To prevent participants from just drafting absolute scrubs who barely ever played, there will be a minutes played threshold to qualify as a draftable player. The minimum minutes played requirement will be 1000 minutes (so no, Morris Almond would not be draftable).

I have no idea if people will actually be interested in this, but I think it could be fun reliving the worst players in Jazz history. It will be a chill draft. No time limits. We will only be making 5 picks each, so no rush. I have no limit on participation. I will take as many as we can get.

Participants:

1. Saint Cy of JFC
2. SoberasHotRod
3. David Hume
4. Thee Jazz Fan
5. Gunter D
6. Coach Ellis
7. Ferguson_Mellochill

I had to look Almond up. He played less than 300 minutes for us. That’s insane for a 1st round pick. Especially a guy who was drafted for a glaring need and needed so badly. Brotha couldn’t manage to play 20 minutes a game for 15 games for us. In his entire Jazz career.

Especially since, if I remember, he was absolutely fire in the D League. He held the league single game scoring record for a few years.

Ahh, Mo-be. Good times. I remember Locke one time saying he did a one-on-one drill with Ronnie Price, and Almond just couldn't do anything at all with him, Price just made him look completely out of his league.

Because I am just that nice
(If a guy played multiple positions, if Basketball Reference listed him as a PG or a C in at least one year he played for the Jazz, I put them in that category, since those two are the ones that are limiting. So that's why, for example, you see CJ Miles listed as a point guard).

There are only 167 players who have played 1,000+ minutes for the Jazz. I think you have to keep it to just 5 players. FWIW, I would love to pick someone who currently sits at 760 minutes, so maybe the minute limit can be a little flexible.

I may lower it to like 800+ then

Im going to cap it at 15 teams, 5 picks, and keep the 1000 minute limit. If we dont get 15, I'll stop signups by Friday.
