2025 Annual Jazzfanz Vintage NBA Draft

Thank you all for your patience. I'm adding the following:

Mark Price. He is an ideal backup PG, offering elite 3-point shooting (40.2% 3P% on 3.4 3PA) which helps with my team’s spacing needs. He brings efficient scoring (15.2 PPG, 47.2% FG) and playmaking (6.7 APG). The dude is clutch, can be used in several different weays, and his off-ball shooting complements Erving and Robertson.

And my next pick is Glen Rice. He can back up either the SG/SF depending on what's needed. I need more outside shooting and he's a 40% career from the 3Pt line. Again, this gives more spacing. He also doesn't need the ball, which lets someone like Robertson or Dr. J get things going.

I’m a big fan of Price. Super underrated. I remember him giving Stockton fits. He would’ve averaged 25 in today’s game. I’m a fan of this pick.

  • Clutch Performance: His famous steal in Game 7 of the 1965 Eastern Conference Finals is a prime example of his ability to make crucial defensive plays when it mattered most.
Key offensive attributes:

  • Shot Maker: Havlicek was an exceptional "shot maker" who could adjust and score even when off-balance or in the air, a quality described by his former teammate Dave Cowens.

Dražen Petrović

Offense:

Dražen Petrović was a gifted offensive player known for his exceptional perimeter shooting and ability to score in a variety of ways. He was often referred to as the "Mozart of the Parquet" for his artistic skills on the court.

  • Exceptional Shooter: Petrović possessed a quick release and deep range on his jump shot, capable of hitting shots off the dribble or in catch-and-shoot situations. He shot 44.9% from three-point range in his final NBA season (1992-93). Throughout his NBA career, he shot an impressive 43.7% from beyond the arc.

  • Versatile Scorer: He was more than just a shooter, demonstrating an ability to drive to the basket, finish explosively at the rim, and utilize pump fakes and ball fakes to create scoring opportunities. He once scored 112 points in a Croatian League game.
  • Off-Ball Movement: Petrović was adept at moving without the ball, reading defenses, and using screens to get open looks within his team's offense.
  • Fearless and Confident: He was known for his tenacity and determination to win, never backing down from a challenge. According to Sports Illustrated, LeBron James described him as someone "who wasn't afraid of the moment, he wasn't afraid of anything".
  • Passing Ability: Petrović was a good passer who could run the break and deliver slick no-look passes, further enhancing his offensive threat.

Reggie Miller calls draws, and Petrovic the greatest shooter he’s ever played against with a faster release than Steph Curry
