2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

There is no possible way to do this cap wise and Lauri doesn't have this value right now.
It works perfectly on the trade machine.

I’ve sweetened the deal by giving the 76ers our #21 pick.

Embiid / Markkanen / Maxey - this trio will make next year’s East Finals and should win it given that Tatum is out next year for the Celtics.

A popular trade idea created by Grizzlies fans is making its way around Grizzlies Twitter right now:

John Collins + 5 for Jaren Jackson Jr
I actually kind of like that if they wanted to do a compete thing. Walker/Lauri/JJJ would be a crazy front-court trio. It probably wouldnt work, but one of those fits that would just be an interesting experiment.

Sixers would be adding something, not taking an extra pick. George's contract is potentially a cinderblock.

If we had JJJ/Lauri/Walker, then combine them with Jrue Holiday? Could we get Holiday from the Celtics for cheap given their financial woes?

If Keyonte was ready to step up and a be star scorer, I could see it working, but we have no reason to believe he would be ready. Jazz would still lack that reliable primary creator that could make the 3 big lineup work.

I'm not very familiar with the Grizzlies but isn't JJJ a crazy good player? I.... would consider this. It would be anti timeline so to speak but JJJ might be the caliber of player to accelerate for. JJJ would be a 1 year rental, I wonder what the extension number would look like (not sure of the extension rules). It would open up some interesting team building options.

Imagine we combine this move with something like:

Lauri + #21 + other stuff
for
PG + #3
(slightly hopeful trade but I don't think its out of the ballpark)

We would have PG/JJJ/Walker

with the #3 pick for Tre or VJ or whoever else

Would this situation even work out cap wise?
Is this even a good approach?
I don't know, but its pretty interesting.

And Denver's 2026 first-round pick.

Does this look good?
That would be awful for them. MPJ is prone to suckage, but his ceiling is still a much better player/fit for Jokic than Collins. If they are trading a guy like MPJ, they need two pieces back. Maybe if it was Sexton/Collins for MPJ and some future pick.

Also think you would have to put a guy like Sensabaugh in there.

The reason this trash gets proposed is because the league ensures the Lakers get the lopsided trades, ala Gasol, Luka, etc. So the Lakers fan base just begin to expect that other teams exist only as farm teams for the Lakers, which isn't terribly far from the truth.
