2025 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread

Why would the Kings give their unprotected first and their lottery pick from 2024 for Kessler when they have Sabonis already?
Because their defense is hot trash and Sabonis can play with another big. They don't have to occupy the same space and they can manage lineups so they aren't always on the floor at the same time. Carter was selected under the old regime and they already caught **** for selecting another guard. They only played him as a wing really... no idea how attached they are to him.

They have a new front office, some players that are already grumbling, an impatient owner, and a frustrated fan base. Would be shocked if they just did some stuff around the edges this summer. A rebuild seems out of the question right now. It would be a short cut to some improvement.

Talking trades with my rockets bros and none of them are at all excited about Lauri. Not sure if jazz fans over value him or non jazz fans under value him.
We wayyy over value him on this board.. lol

He hasn’t proven himself in the playoffs AT ALL.

I know we gotta be bullish, but sometimes you got to be realistic also.

Agreed, but you also don’t have to give away the farm either. I’m open to trading him, but only if the Jazz can extract real assets in the process that actually moves the rebuild forward.

The question of the offseason in my mind is if we can trade up to #2. I’m not interested in trading up to #3 or #4, we’re not trading up to #1, and I’m not trying to trade down, either (unless someone came at the Jazz with a crazy offer). I would also like to trade up from #21.

I’m confident Harper is a piece you can build around. I’m not confident in basically anything the Jazz have right now in the context that the Jazz are in.

#2 + #14 + salary filler for #5 + #21 + Lauri is what I’m praying on.

I would do this trade...might even throw in #21 if it's a deal breaker for them.

Hoping the Spurs aren't looking for a bigger fish such as Giannis with all their assets. Ofc it would suck to see Lauri in San Antonio but he's going to be at least 30 by the time Jazz are seriously ready to start winning games again.

That isn’t going to happen. I’d be surprised if they did that deal minus 14.

I think it could happen without that if they don’t get Giannis. I don’t think they want to draft Harper. I also don’t think they want to (or could very easily) trade Fox.

They’re going after Giannis. But Giannis and Milwaukee are going to have to want to do it also.

My gut says if the Bucks can turn Dame and draft stuff into real win-now pieces then he’s gonna give it another go.

I hope we are actively pitching Mil. A side benefit they could sell Giannis on is if it doesn't work with John and Collin the team would have a lot of cap space with just Giannis and Kuz on the books next offseason. I would be driving so hard for that 2031 pick with as little protection as possible if I was Utah.
