I don’t really care whether you take me seriously or not. But that’s not my argument at all. My argument is:Your point is clear, I just can’t take it seriously. You say your complaint is about not tanking well enough. Then when we actually do tank well enough, you turn around and complain that the roster that tanked well isn’t good. This is venting, not good faith discussion.
1. We knew we’d be bad for a few years to collect talent (tank).
2. For inexplicable reasons, we failed to commit fully to the tank until year 3.
3. Throughout this experience our scouting and drafting has been poor. The goal of the last 3 years was to collect talent that could one day be used to: (a) replace the aged star talent we sent packing or (b) be used as trade bait to for established stars. We’ve failed at both.
I look at our roster and it’s astonishing to see how little we’ve accomplished. And just because we “tanked well” enough this year doesn’t justify the years prior where we either weren’t poor enough to earn a top pick or drafted poorly (Cody Williams) despite having a good lotto pick.
