2025 Utah Jazz All-Time Bad Draft

Love this pick (and the picture is amazing). Way back in the early days of ChatGPT, I was playing around with the model’s capabilities and teaching some of my students about how to use it safely in class. One of the things we did was ask it to write an essay about why Kyrylo Fesenko was the greatest Jazz player of all time.

What it created was a work of art. I wish I still had it, but I have no idea where I saved it at. Very, very over the top.
His willingness to get frosted blonde tips in his hair alone should put him this high.

The Mellochills draft John Amaechi, 6'10" PF/C from Penn State, who played a total of 1,064 minutes in two seasons for the Jazz in 2001-03. Amaechi averaged 2.6 ppg and 1.7 rpg on 32% shooting. He is probably best known for having clashes with Jerry Sloan and participating in a Pride Week celebration in downtown SLC.

@David Hume is up.

He was number 1 on my Big Board. Not to worry. I have a worthy replacement.

Mel Turpin Dinner Bell Mel The Mealman Burpin’ Turpin. 5.9 ppg. Story I read on line: When traded to the Jazz his weight was listed at 290, and when he reported to the Jazz they weighed him and the scales read 325. “What happened?” The Jazz asked. “I like Airplane food” was Mel’s reply.

Our first Old Head deep-cut

Curtis Borchardt

18th pick in the 2002 NBA Draft

7’0 center who shot 42.1% from the field in 83 games for the Jazz

Per basketball reference his highest rated game ever was 11 points and 8 rebounds in 34 mins on 4/8 from the field.

His career high in rebounds was 11 and in that same game he went 0/9 from the field.

83 total games including 23 starts and scored in double figures only twice.

Truly one of the worst Jazz players of all-time. I think he has a case for being the worst player with 1000 minutes with Amaechi.
