What's new

2026 NBA Trade Discussion Thread

Oh I agree to a point. You have to build to his strengths, and bad hammy Conley wasnt it. How are things different if we had added a player like JJJ instead of Conley? That Clippers series looks far different.
Let's not forget Donovan was atrocious on defense. Bogie tried some but always had slow feet. Ingles and Royce were not as good in defense as previous years, etc. Just poor roster construction on defense around Rudy, plus Quin's inability to adapt it's defensive schemes.

Looking more and more like Kessler won't have that massive market after all (and probably never did in the first place). For once the Ainges seem to know exactly what they're doing.

I mean here's a guy who offers zero dependable ball skills, is unswitchable and a liability in crunch time because he can't hit his free throws. And he has a shoulder injury that may or may not affect his effectiveness going forward.

Buyer beware

That better not include this year’s Pacers pick.. they’re dead last currently.
Nah. I’m 99% confident Austin leaked this to the press. He’s trying to send a signal to the league that they really value Kessler and will match anything to dissuade contract offers. Doubt it will work but don’t blame him for trying - it’s free. The tell is that the specific picks aren’t named - bet if they were it would be a deal we’d all reject.

I think the Indiana pick protection design suggests they’ve identified a guy they think they can grab later in the draft without too much trouble and like more than most of the project 5-9 guys.
