What's new

3-wing lineups are a bandaid + we shouldn't wait for Dante

To get an impact player I feel like it will cost us Burks or Hood. Are we willing to part with one of those dudes, when Exum will be back next season?

Lindsey isn't stupid. Dude knows what he's doing and while he wants to grow organically, I think he'll recognize the small conundrum here and make a move for a George Hill or the like if it can be made within reason.

Trading Exum is a dumb idea. Homer Simpson dumb. Utah has assets to replace hot trash Trey without selling low on Dante, they just need to wait until around midseason and hope for a significant upgrade to come available. They really have little choice otherwise, as they screwed the pooch by hanging on to trash can Trey in hopes that pooh could turn to gold. Offering up Exum right now isn't going to suddenly make some great pg magically become available.

I think most are in agreement trading Exum would be dumb. However, I think we WILL miss the playoffs waiting until mid season for a PG upgrade though. The offense looks horrific.

I'm not trading Dante, but the Jazz need to do something 6 weeks ago. Seriously don't know what they're thinking, there are/were some gettable players on the trade market or free agency. The Jazz need to start winning. I'd really rather not worry about Hayward having legitimate reasons to leave.

He was old 3 years ago, I think that ship has sailed.

And yet, he'd be far and away the best PG on this team.

I'm not asking for more than a year. Another band-aid solution, sure, but those are useful and STILL better than anything we have going on right now. He should cost very little to acquire if the Knicks suck again this year.

Far and away? What does Calderon do well other than hit 3s? He is not nearly the distributor he used to be, at least not with Dallas and New York.

I would bet that, as bad as Trey Burke is, that New York would do a straight up Burke/Calderon trade without thinking twice.

NBA.com player tracking defensive stats are awesome. They track the number of field goals a player defended, what percentage they gave up and compare it to what they normally shoot.

Calderon is absolutely horrendous with this metric. Essentially his opponent shot 54.2%(!!!) when they normally would shoot 43.1%. 11.1% difference, the worst of any player who played half the season.

He didn't have Gobert and favors on his team though
