At #9 in the all-time Jazz ranks:

Games: Rickey Green (606)
Minutes: Bryon Russell (16443)
Points: Memo (7255)
Rebounds: Memo (3599)
Assists: Darrell Griffith (1627)
Steals: Nobody (2 players are in a tie for 8th)
Blocks: Memo (346)

I didn't expect to see the Money Man at #9 in so many things.

John Starks played his last 2 NBA seasons with the Jazz in 2000-01 and 2001-02. In 2000-01 the Jazz were 9th in the league in blocks. Starks scored 9(.3) ppg and attempted (9.1) FGs per game. His PER for that season rounded to 9 (9.3). Starks scored 9 points on 8 occasions. The Jazz were an impressive 29-6 when Starks scored 9 or more points that season. Starks had quite a dropoff in his final season. He only scored 9 or more points 12 times.

Ronnie Brewer was drafted by the Jazz in 2006 and spent about 3.5 seasons with the team. His dad, Ron Brewer, was an NBA player. In the 1984-85 season (during which Ronnie was born), Ron played 9 games with the Spurs in which he played 9 mpg. In 2006-07, Ronnie attempted 9 3's and missed all of them. Ronnie had a total of 168 games with the Jazz in which he scored 9 or more points. Shortly before the Jazz traded him to the Grizzlies in a salary dump, the Jazz had a 9-game winning streak. The streak ended February 9, 2010. In that game Ronnie combined for 9 points, rebounds, and assists. CJ Miles scored 9 points for the Jazz and Marcus Camby had 9 points on 9 FGAs for the Clippers. 9 days later, on February 18, 2010, Ronnie was traded.

EDIT: I missed an obvious 9 connection. Ronnie's career PPG is currently 9.0

In Starks first season with the Jazz, the team started 7-2 through the first 9 games with an average point differential of 9. For a trip down memory lane that was Quincy Lewis and Scott Padget second season, and Deshawn Stevensons rookie year. The team had Danny Manning, Olden Polynice and Greg Ostertag. And I was very excited to see Donyel Marshall in his first season with the jazz. ( He would go on to average 14 points and 7 rebounds in less than 30 minutes for the Jazz. The Jazz would go onto to face the Dallas Mavericks in the first round of the playoffs and would lose 2-3 after starting off the series with 2 home wins. In the deciding game John stockton only scored 4 pts, Steve Nash scored 9 and John Starks was coming off the bench while Byron Russell tried and failed to slow down Michael Finely (33pts).

Bryon Russell is the only player to be with the Jazz for exactly 9 seasons and he is 1 of 9 players to play 600 or more games with the Jazz.

In their ninth season (1982-83), the Jazz had the 9th-best record in the Western Conference. Basketball-reference shows the Jazz as 10th because the Warriors took the season series 3-1. The Jazz were 9th in the league in 3P% and steals. The Jazz won their 9th game of the season. The Jazz were a miserable 0-4 when playing on the 9th. In games decided by exactly 9 points, the Jazz had a sparkling 3-0 record.

In their 9th season in Utah (1987-88), the Jazz were 9th in the league in Simple Rating System. Yep, that's a bit of a stretch to find something. The Jazz won their 9th game of the season. The Jazz were 0-3 when playing on the 9th. In games decided by exactly 9 points, the Jazz had a record of 2-0 counting the playoffs.

Is there some significance to retiring the #9 jersey for Miller?

Larry was an avid fast pitch softball player. He wore #9 when he played. I guess the pitching really messed up his elbow, disfigured it somehow and maybe thats why there is a JF user name: Larrys Elbow.
