What's new

A long interview with Enes

Thank you for this thread.
I was really hoping for something of interest to me to magically appear, and it did.

I have noticed that Okur also starts many sentences with the phrase, "First of all." I wonder if it is a translation of a common Turkish phrase?

I guess its a turkish phrase, because in school they taught us, First of all, in english you have to learn the phrase First of all

You must spread some reputation around before giving it to sepanol again. I had to laugh at the Utah comments. I have to believe his first impression is that it's a bit boring...

Anyways it should be good for him to learn from Hedo. Vet influence is always good. Don't sweat all of the translation critiques. People say things in their own language all the time that could be worded better.

I wonder if this might translated better differently. Maybe civilized.
I think the translation was actually, "the people, they aren't crazy. They wear their pants around their waists in Utah, not two inches below their butt cracks."

He mentioned rather the people on the streets, not the fans since he hasnt played in energy solutions arena yet. He told like, they are not crazy/mad people (maybe he referred to turkish people, dont know), they are cool, peaceful or calm people. Dont know how else to translate

"It is the most intimidating place to play because of the configuration of the arena... and, let's be honest... they are Mormon. They are in Salt Lake, and there's nothing up there. [Mormons] gotta smile and be happy all the time... and this is the one opportunity for people to get vicious in a fair arena. And the fans seem to take full advantage of it." --Ric Bucher
