A poor man's Donovan Mitchell

Glad you pointed out that key category for being a valuable NBA stud player! Best dunkers ALWAYS end up in the HOF and with the most championships Fact of the matter is Irving is by far the better BBall player than Donavan! He's a much better shooter, better defender, better ball handler and smarter court awareness than Donovan. Donovan is good, but has got to improve dramatically in his shot selection and court savy! It will, no doubt, come in time, but not right now!

I know you are trying to be sarcastic, but its true that Dunking win championships and gets you in the HOF.

These are some of the best dunkers ever.

Michael Jordan -
Lebron James -
Dwayne Wade -
Tim Dunkin - (hahaha get it?)
Kareem -
Magic -
Kobe -
Malone -
Bird -
Wilt -
Shaq -

The list can keep going on. In fact if you notice, all the best were great dunkers. With the exception of only very few like Stockton. Hopping as you like to call it is actually a very useful tool for an NBA player. Dunking is a very high percentage shot that also energizes a team like no othet shot.
 
Kyrie is a better shooter/scorer. That's a big deal. But Donovan is young. The key to Mitchell's greatness and being a peer to a guy like Kyrie, will be becoming a 60%+ TS guy with the 25+ppg scoring.

Hopping as you like to call it is actually a very useful tool for an NBA player. (Hip hop ball has very little to do with dunking! Hip hop ball is what you saw with the Rockets, missing 26 3 pointers in a row and STILL taking them with a man in his face and out of there range!) Dunking is a very high percentage shot that also energizes a team like no other shot. (It's a high percentage shot alright, but 3 pointers can energize a team just as much, maybe even more!)

Im talking about guys who can actually get to the rim and dunk in a game on a regular basis, and who use the dunk to score. Guys who are starters.

The fancyness of the dunk doesnt matter.
