A prophet or a fiend?

Has anyone ever taken LSD? Can you describe your experiences (good or bad)? I've been reading a lot about the counter-culture era in the USA lately and I'm fascinated by the drug and what I've read from academics/scholars. I don't think I will ever try it but perhaps I may as I become more educated and talk to more folks with firsthand experience.

I have never had the urge to try LSD, simply because I'm scared of the potential "bad trip".
