A True Life Best Buy Story

Yes, Billy, a lot of immature people on here -- that's the whole point. If you can't respect others, it's probably because you don't respect yourself, which is a sign of this.

Thanks, Marcus ... cool response

Write4U, that’s pretty awesome. I concur about Mathews, he was a fantastic pick up for us and it hurt to see him go. By the way didn’t there use to be a way to ignore members that had nothing really to say but wouldn’t shut up? If that’s gone I think it should be returned. This site has turned in to less of a basketball discussion and more of a high school click.

Yes, you can put them on your ignore list. I guess that's an option, but you'd probably end up ignoring half the board.

Numberica ... if you don't recognize the humanity in someone else, then it's because you're failing to recognize those qualities in yourself. When you know and respect yourself, you will feel for other people and treat them with dignity because you know that's how you want to be treated. It's the old golden rule.

Do you practice what you preach? Just curious....

I have serious doubts to the veracity of this story but in the end it doesn't matter. No new insight was shared- we all knew Sloan liked Matthews and wanted him to stay along with most of the team.

Shaggy, I hope so ... when have you seen me attacking people for their views. I'm always defending myself from attacks. But I would be the first to admit I'm far from perfect and am overly sensitive.

Qman, so far as the veracity. What would cause me to dig up Clifford Ray? I mean he was a good ballplayer, for sure. But he isn't someone that is on the tip of our tongues. By the way, did you know he and Jerry were roommates? I didn't. I did know that Jerry roomed with Norm Van Lier for a while, I believe. If you doubt me, PM me and I'll tell you what city I saw Clifford Ray, then you can look him up and see if he actually lives there. I did ask if he lives here and he said yes. Sure, no insight, but it was interesting to learn from someone who is probably a good friend ... he actually talked to him about Matthews, so they keep in touch ... what Jerry really thinks.
