A what IF trade idea

I would love to get ibaka for this season. Could give us just what we need in the playoffs to really make some noise.

I give up a first rounder for him and give up a scrub.

Rotation of
Hill, mack/X
Hood, Burks
Hayward, JJ
Favors, ibaka, Lyles
Gobert, favors, ibaka.

Hell of a playoff rotation.

I kinda like the idea of renting Ibaka(if the price is right). If Orlando is cerrtain they will lose him there is a chance that we could pick him up for next to nothing. Look what DL got out of Kanter. It would be quite the luxury.

Diaw + a crappy pick. Is anyone going to offer better than that in feb to rent him? Will anybody else who wants to rent him even be able to make room/trade someone with a high enough salary? Houston perhaps?

So Orlando gives up Oladipo/Sabonis for Ibaka to trade them to us for something that is acceptable to JFC for a half year rental? Fat chance.

I just dont like the idea at all. You know how pissed Ibaka would be to come here as a backup in his contract year? I just couldn't see that being a good chemistry mix. Ibaka is a bad player when he isnt motivated.

Jazz should be setting sights much lower. There really is no reason to do any trades though. We have everything we need, the only position I really consider upgrading would be backup PG. If we could get a shooter at the PG spot, someone like Jameer Nelson, that would be great.

If the jazz are as good as I think they are when healthy then maybe he would be fine with 25 minutes per night on a team that can go deep in the playoffs rather than a team that isn't very good like orlando.

Anywho, a jazzfan can dream that we get him for cheap and he fits in and accepts his role and gives max effort (hoping to get a good contract in the summer). Unlikely, but would kick ***.

Ehh, if we going to dream something that unlikely why not dream we trade for Lebron?

Or at least someone who isnt set to be a FA the following year.

You think the whole ibaka thing is much more of an impossibility than I do if you compare aquiring him to aquiring lebron.
 
the thing is orlando is looking down a double barrelled shotgun with Ibaka. He is an UFA next summer. All orlando has is his bird rights. If he walks for nothing after what they gave up it will screw them and right now I think Ibaka is gone.

All I want him for is a half year rental so Favors can get healthy.

So they traded all that to get a player they dont think they can re-sign? Seems unlikely.
