What's new

Aaron Gordon was in SLC today....

There is a interesting article by the Boston Globe on Aaron Gordon and that he is a PF, Not a SF. They quote some NBA contacts that Aaron is fooling himself if he thinks he is going to be able to play SF in the NBA.

“See, he thinks he’s a small forward,” said one Western Conference scout. “That’s not what he is.”

“If he embraces what he does really well, which is run, jump, play with energy, play above the rim, he’s going to have a phenomenal NBA career,” said an Eastern Conference scout. “If he wants to prove to everyone that he’s a wing and he can shoot, then I think you’re going to have some problems, a la Derrick Williams.”

Same type of talk from the Locke/Pelton podcast last week.

But Derrick Williams did not posses the handle and first step that Gordon does. In my opinion that's a crappy comparison.

Also Derrick Williams was not a great defender, which is Gordon's strength. There is no question about Gordon being able to guard a SF.

That article puts serious doubts into whether Aaron Gordon can play the SF in the NBA...

Well apparently Gordon struggled guarding Hood, although he was successful guarding Jabari.....
