? about Islam

You're saying God/Allah sets the standard and judges out from that. I expected such but didn't want to assume.

This seems to get lost in the mix, but it's a sticking point deep down for Christians who wonder what the purpose of proving yourself in this life is when God/Allah knows all anyway. If He doesn't know all then He couldn't set a standard, etc.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I'll just interject my own thoughts on this subject. I feel like as Christians the purpose of doing right rather than wrong isn't because we want to have more good deeds than evil deeds, because ultimately we get our salvation through faith, not works. However works are a sign that you have faith, IMO. I feel like Christian's do "good" deeds because God commands us to. Sure we could just ignore them and rely on our faith, but honestly what kind of faith do you have if you can't even follow the commandments of the God you claim to serve?

It's wierd because the Bible does not have a single verse in it saying there is a Trinity (King James Version had one but was later found to be a forgery). There is not a single unambiguous statement in the entirety of the Bible were Jesus says "worship me" or "I am God". Yet this is the ENTIRETY of the faith of Modern day Christians. I am more Christian then Christians meaning I follow Christ's teaching way more. Virgin Mary wore a Hijab, the Bible says that a women that does not cover her hair should shave it off. Jesus was circumcised. The list goes on and on.

Actually if you look at the original Hebrew and Greek, the passage where it goes, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God...." etc etc, they use the plural forms for those words, implying more than one, implying the trinity. Also if you were more "Christian" than Christians, you would believe that Jesus Christ is the savior, which you clearly don't believe.

I realize that you like to concentrate on the legalistic issues of religion, but you should try to open your eyes a little.

Only God knows who will get in or out, obviously. Acceptance into heaven is much more of a complicated thing, than simply the "black-or-white" approach that many faiths adopt. Hell, the definition of a muslim is whoever submits to one God. God, or Allah, whatever you wanna call him, will be the judge on that day and only He knows what will happen to everyone, regardless of faith. I can't imagine someone like Gandhi or Buddha being turned down on Judgement day, simply due to their faith. Doesn't make much sense to me.
I've always felt this way. It doesn't make sense to me that someone like Mother Teresa wouldn't go to heaven just because she may not belong to whatever "church" turns out to be the "correct" one. IMO, actions speak louder than words.

Hantlers has something to say other than eff the moderators? I've seen it all now...

Christ would be the standard for faith too, no? I think most people believe what you wrote but explain it off in a variety of ways. Every Christian believes works matter or they wouldn't perform the "work" of getting baptised.

1 Corinthians 11:6

"If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head."

This is New Testament Btw, so Christians can't use that excuse "oh, it's old testament, that doesn't count anymore"

How come the one thing known about Virgin Mary was that she wore Hijab?

Islam in it's current form is the natural God's progress of the Christianity preached by Jesus.

I am far more Christian then any Christian at least on these boards.

I realize that you like to concentrate on the legalistic issues of religion, but you should try to open your eyes a little.

You need to pay attention. TBS has already asserted (numerous times) that Islam and the Qur'an are interpretive, while all other religions and religious texts must be taken literally and at face value.

It's just so easy!

No, I have never said that the Qur'an is interpretive. You are supposed to take it at face value.

People say oh Noah's flood is a metaphor for the whole world getting baptized it isn't real.

People say the devil isn't real its just everyday temptations.

People say Heaven and Hell aren't real they are metaphors.

What's to stop to say that God isn't a metaphor for the world and the Universe?????

The difference between the Qur'an and the Bible is the stories in the Qur'an aren't proven to be false.

Noah's flood was a local Flood.

Adam and Eve in the Qur'an is way different, Adam was the first Prophet watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ugu3cZN-3jU for more.

People started saying the bible isn't literal it's interpretive because it has crazy verses.

Ezekiel 23:20 "here she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses."

The bible says to kill people who work on Sunday. It says to stone kids who don't listen to their mothers. It says when you conquer a city, kill everyone except the virgin women and rape them.

You will find no such thing in the Qur'an and I dare you to give me verses that do.

No, I have never said that the Qur'an is interpretive. You are supposed to take it at face value.

27:18 When they reached the Valley of the Ants, an ant exclaimed: O ants! Enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his armies crush you, unperceiving.
27:19 And (Solomon) smiled, laughing at her speech, and said: My Lord, arouse me to be thankful for Thy favour wherewith Thou hast favoured me and my parents, and to do good that shall be pleasing unto Thee, and include me i n (the number of) Thy righteous slaves.

The ants were LITERALLY chatting with one another. Then Solomon LITERALLY heard them speak (because he LITERALLY has the super power to understand animals), so he laughed and avoided them. I've always imagined his companions asking him why he was laughing, and him explaining that it was because of something funny the ant said.

Oh TBS, you and your vast (infant-like) intellect.

Okay. You just keep regurgitating the same disjointed arguments, and I'll keep reminding myself that you aren't a very good representative of Islam, and that I shouldn't judge it based on you.

Fair enough?

Edit: That was directed at TBS, not SiroMar.

It's ok SiroMar

Qur'an 6:25

And among them are those who listen to you, but We have placed over their hearts coverings, lest they understand it, and in their ears deafness. And if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. Even when they come to you arguing with you, those who disbelieve say, "This is not but legends of the former peoples."

Thanks for proving YET ANOTHER verse of the Qur'an to be 100% true just like every other verse.

Good luck in life, it is Heaven for you. At least it is gonna feel like Heaven compared to what is coming next.

Edit: lol Bronco70, you have no defense so you just give up. I am a human I make mistakes give me some Bible Verses and compare it to the Qur'an if I am wrong (which I am not, but w/e I'll let you attempt to correct me). Maybe you aren't foolish enough to do that because it will be like comparing gold(Qur'an) with dirt(Bible). There will be no comparison.

This totally answers the absurdity of my verse! Or do you really think your fantastical sky daddy scares me?

Your a big man SiroMar, so tuff man! It's ok to be embarrassed by your own stupidity. I don't know how it feels but I am sure you are used to it!

You're mistaken. Who's the one who believes a guy commanded the animals and waged wars with an army of birds? Who's the one who thinks a desert warlord with an assload of wives speaks for the creator of the universe? Who's the one who bases his life on a children's book that tells of a people sleeping underground for thousands of years waiting to emerge and drink all of your water?

I'll give you a hunt. It's the STUPID one.
