and as I see it, toeing the company line is not necessarily a point in your favor, because it may imply that your "toes" are right at the line, trying to push the boundaries as much as possible

some may see that as trouble waiting to happen.

Toeing the line means not crossing it. Look it up. It's actually fairly well known.

I'm a hater because you don't know how to use a common idiom? I'm okay with that. So, I'll continue to hate.
 
not knowing the history, "toeing" the line at face value makes it sound like ur just on the edge of breaking the rules. like in this example, you push the limits just to the point of getting banned. again, i dont know the historical or 'common' usage of it, just the way it sounds at face value bro.
