Advertising Issues

The ads have seemed to stop. I haven't been on much lately though because it's still having major loading issues. It takes so long to load threads, and post replies.

Any idea what's up with that? It seemed to coincide with the ad problems.

The only issues I've had with loading are gifs. I gave up trying to view them in tapatalk or the iPad. Even on my desktop the gif thread takes forever to load.

I haven't noticed that. Anyone else? You have a malware checker or anything? Clear cache?

Ya I've tried all that. It doesn't work. It's still a giant pain in the butt to navigate Jazzfanz. It's so slow and sometimes doesn't even load the page. I have the Samsung Note3. It's a pretty fast phone. I don't have trouble with other websites either.

I do apologize. Short of a factory reset or using Tapatalk, I'm not sure what else we can do at this point, unfortunately. The advertising company is watching this thread and removing any ads we can find that would cause this... :(

Had an audio ad popped up today with some Spanish speaking dude.... was pretty annoying. Dunno how Google messed that up.. lol...

No i don't speak Spanish.

Our advertiser has asked for any/all of the following when there is an issue:

If users would follow the format below to report an ad I can investigate much further into any problems:

  • Device and OS
  • Browser
  • JazzFanz URL where the ad appeared
  • Advertiser name (best guess based on ad)
  • Approximate geographic location
  • Screenshots (if possible)
  • URL of the ad (I'm not encouraging clicking ads, but right click the ad, copy the URL location, and paste it here without clicking on the ad. If it is Flash, you may not be able to do this)
As much as your users are willing to complete this form, it will help isolate any issues and help us all, perhaps, begin to see some commonalities when, where, and why the problems are occurring.

Thanks in advance!

it's just weird because I never had any issues with the site before. It just started when all the ads started. Now the ads have stopped, but the site is still slow. I did the hard reset but it was before the ads stopped. I'll try it again.

What's a hard reset? Site ain't really workin on my comp either

Guess I shoulda read this thread. I don't know the URL that it happens from, because it always redirects me. Got a porn site link from clicking on a thread in jazz forum. That's annoying. All this crappy game ads keep popping up too in the App Store on my iPhone in Safari.

Sorry. Any details are really appreciated as noted. Which thread was it - which app was pushed - etc.

I see iPhone from b_line but which iOS version? Are you rooted/jailbroken?

Thanks!

The latest iOS update. 7.something. Just a regular old at and t phone. Nothing special about it.

Same ads are back. It's telling me I have viruses again, and trying to make me download apps.

The site is also still really slow even after another hard reset.

This is really a bummer Jason. It's so hard to use this site now. I don't mind ads, I know you want to make some money, but the way it's set up just sucks. I'm sure there is probably a difference from using a phone and a regular computer, so I can I only speak to phone use. It just flat out sucks now to use from my phone. Why not just have ads that are placed on the sides of the screen or in between posts or something? Like the ones you have a little bit of already? Personally, I don't think that's bad. I know the Facebook model was to not muck things up with that stuff like MySpace did, and maybe that's the same idea here. I dunno. I just would rather the site be dressed up with ads rather than ones that attack my phone. It's so annoying. Like I'm gonna buy something from someone who is trying to force me into it. I mean by that, the anti virus ad that keeps attacking my phone trying to force me into buying their anti virus app. To me, that company and app is the problem. What I need is an app that blocks that junk. That's what really would help. They are really the virus. It's so dumb to think that me or anyone else is gonna fall for that. It makes me despise the company tbh. It doesn't make me want to buy. Same goes for the other ads trying to force me into downloading games. Basically any ad that is overbearing and forces me to look at it or deal with it is not getting my money or time. I appreciate advertisers who aren't like this and I will give them a look and possibly my money and time. Like the ones that are at the top of the website and just give off a soft presentation. I do notice them.

That's my 2 cents on it.

So sorry. This slowness issue is concerning too though. I've yet to see that personally on mobile or desktop. Granted, my advertising profile is different than yours so the ads I see are likely different.

I didn't see in this thread but is there a reason you don't use Tapatalk?

I may experiment with you and a few others by removing all the ads and seeing where we land.
