Will there be any pieces sitting on the NBA trash heap the Jazz would/sill find useful for both building and a playoff run?

Assuming we eventually sign Ingles, Pleiss, and/or Neto, we'll be cutting players more likely than signing them.

If we miss out on them, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jazz settle for their D-League contracts.

They've made it clear they aren't looking to sign anyone drastic.

Team at the start of the season will be:

Gobert/Pleiss
Favors/Booker/Lyles
Hayward/Ingles/Millsap
Burks/Hood/Hanlan
Exum/Burke/Neto

That is 14 players. I do think there is a chance that Burke is traded though.

They don't call Dennis Lindsey "DL" for nothing.

Most likely we sign Pleiss and Ingles and call it good for the offseason.

Second most likely we sign some 3rd tier free agent in a couple days. Kind of like when we signed Booker. People will be mad but it will probably end up being a good pickup, like Booker.

Third most likely we wait for most of the free agency to die down and make a trade for a decent player. Combine our depth and/or picks and get a better player.

I'd rather have Brock Motum on team than Elijah Millsap. EM's contract isn't guaranteed is it?

No Cotton?

we have 4 PGs, possibly 5. SOmeone has to go. I'd prefer Exum/Neto/Cotton but Burke is a guaranteed and I put Hanlan as 3rd string at the 2.

Millsap over Motum all day imo. His D is elite and he has tons of heart and hustle.

Main thing is that both are end of benchers and Millspa is proven good for chemistry.

If this organization is as peerless in developing players as we're supposed to believe, buying Biyombo low could yield massive returns (either a starter-quality big that plays elite defense OFF THE BENCH, or cash that chip in for something else).

Bring in Pleiss and Biyombo. Make Biyombo the 3rd string C and just work him hard all year?

I don't really have a problem with that. That would probably leave the Jazz with no flexability with the roster size though...
