It has been speculated that Al does not like to Dunk. In the post-game today he said
That's why I don't like dunkin

Thurl Bailey dismissed that comment as something that he didn't really mean. I really hope he doesn't stop taking it hard to the hole like that. I was also impressed that he kept playing--and seemed to step it up a notch after going down. I was worried it was the Jazz's turn to have a key player out injured...

If I have to choose someone that gets banged up and plays hard and a guy that plays 82 timid games, I choose the former EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Jazz fans and Harpring need to realize that Al is mostly a below the rim player. He's not going to start throwing down dunks like Malone or Boozer out of nowhere. Sure, he'll throw one down every once in a while, but he'll probably get rejected more often than not challenging 7 footers at the rim. That's why he learned the art of the pump fake and push shot, y'all.

I wish I could remember Boozer dunking, but he seemed to really like the jumpshot more during his time here.

I have memories of him hanging on the rim and swinging around a bit.

The thing with Jefferson is often he has an opening to get to the rim, and/or his defender is backing up and already in the restricted zone so any contact will be a defensive foul, but instead he shoots a little 3-5 foot push shot. He doesn't always need to dunk it there, but it'd be nice if he at least got close enough to lay-up.

Totally agree. It seems like he shoots a higher percentage when he takes it to the hole as well.

Jefferson isn't as explosive nor does he possess the same ability to draw contact and finish as Boozer, but I have noticed him making a concerted effort to finish strong the past 5 games - beginning in Memphis. Hopefully he can continue because in the beginning of the season, after sending Blatch into the popcorn machine Al would've pulled up and shot the push-shot instead of going strong and dunking it on Yi.
