What's new

Alec Burks last 4 games

Over Alec's last 4 games, he is Averaging 15 points, on 51% from the field and 44% from 3, 3 assists a game, .05 blocks, .75 steals, and 5 boards. all of this in about 28 minutes a night.

This may be the start of what G-Time began doing last year when he would string a few good games together, play badly for a week and then string like 8 good games together.

Ty Corbin would play a Josh Howard with torn ACL's, broken legs and let him wear a head band before letting Burks sniff the court.

I've been pretty impressed with some of his passes, he's not really a true PG but his vision has gotten a lot better. More than that, I've been happy to see him start to figure out good vs bad shots, how to involve himself in the offense without driving too much, that kind of stuff. His game is much more nuanced than it was last year and with some time down the stretch here who knows what he can do in a year or two.

I must be teh only Jazz fan alive that thinks Burks needs to drive more. Having Burks not drive the ball into the paint is like having a Ferrari and only driving it to drop off the kids at school.

Might do a great job dropping off the kids at school, but, it's not really where it excels.

I say bench him. We don't want to go above average as a team. It might ruin the team's tradition.

Team tradition above all else.

This. That's why I want him to start at PG and tell the team to run. It puts the ball in his hands every possession. He's not a "true" PG stylistically (a la Rubio) but he could still be a GREAT point guard if you put the ball in his hands and he's in attack mode.

I'd love to see this lineup get serious time together:

PG - Burks
SG - Foye
SF - Hayward
PF - Sap/Favors
C - Jefferson

This lineup would thrive off Burks getting into the paint. Two shooters on the wings, two bigs who can score on the interior if their bigs help off.

will it thrive?
a jefferson led alfense does not run.
it does not drive and kick out to the shooters.

jefferson plays no defense. so if on the offensive end he is not the main piece of the offense taking 15+ shots. his defense hurts us more.
we neeedz to get the ball to al to be active.

there is a reason why williams and al dont work.
same reason why burks and al wont work

Al doesn't have to run to have a fast break. If the fast break doesn't work out than they go set offence and Al gets position. Wouldn't it be nice if half the time we ran and the other half Al pounded the paint. I still think that the reason that Al hogs the ball so much is because there just isn't anything else being done.
