All-NBA Teams Announced Thursday (5-18-17)

If I've mistaken you for the poster that's always posting about D-league prospects, I'm sorry.

Besides that, I said I was led to an assumption. Google has a dictionary. I made my comment about how I see you based on what I recall you posting over the last season.

I don't know you. Never claimed to.

That's Homeytennis, and he's alright too. You have to understand that Homey used to live in Idaho wherever our d-league team used to be, so the only players he got to see live was the d-leaguers.

And even though most of us don't take him too seriously with his suggestions of players to consider, you have to admire a fan that's so dedicated that he spends his time paying attention to a bunch of guys who most likely won't ever play much in the NBA.

You never know though, someday Utah may find a diamond in the rough like Whiteside, and if they do, you can bet your *** that Homie had a thread on him before the scouts figured it out.

If I recall correctly it's especially punitive if a team is over for multiple years in a row. So I can see the Jazz doing it once in a while here or there. But I agree that they probably won't consistently be over the tax threshold.

I've said this before, but I believe that Utah will try not to go over by more than 10 million, and won't do it for more than 2 years. Repeater tax kicks in if you're over 3 out of 4 years, so you have to wait at least 2 years before going over again.

It explains the details here:

Have no problem with anyone disagreeing with me but I'm as loyal as a fan can be and would test my fan resume against anyone. I am fascinated by business and the business of basketball... following the other aspects of basketball doesn't make me any less of a Jazz fan.

I got testy because of the assumption I am some sort of fair weather fan who analyzes d leaguers and 2020 draft prospects. The draft is more luck than science imo and I suck at analyzing draft prospects.

I'm a true Jazz fan who lives and dies with the team. You can call me dumb, ugly, fat whatevs... but don't call me a fairweather fan :)

Disagree with guard vote

Harden/ Russ
Curry/ CP3
Wall/ IT

IT no defense. CP3 totally disrespected.

We will need to avoid going deep into tax and avoid repeater penalties for sure. Waaay to punitive. Will require some roster reconfiguration over the next two years. May have to give Hood the Harden treatment (see if he will agree to a discounted extension and if not move him for more cost effective future pieces). If Favs comes back healthy we likely can't afford him... or we let Hill walk this year, which is okay if he gets overpaid and Hayward stays. His toe issue may be more serious than just a nagging injury.

We can retain the majority of our talent and not be in tax hell... I hope we are allowed to do it... If Hayward walks we won't have any issue salary wise, but no real pressing need to move into tax territory.

Basically the next year and a half will be very interesting and could move a hundred different directions. Status quo won't be an option.

Anybody else find the vote disparity between Draymond/Butler and Hayward/George incredibly suspicious?

Green- 134
Butler- 102
George- 40
Hayward- 27

It's like there was collusion among the media voters to ensure neither would be eligible for the DPE.

On another note, the 9 people who left Rudy completely off their ballot need to never have a vote again. There's no damn way he wasn't top 3.

And how did Deandre get 3 first place votes and Draymond get 4? OMG. Can we have people vote who watch basketball?

By the way, how insane is it that what sportswriters think now directly impacts contract situations now? Holy ****. There's no way this is going to go on for that much longer. Especially when you have players already squawking about it:

CJ McCollum

Nothing they can do about it until the next opt out year. They just barely signed a new agreement.

If anything, they should change the way the all NBA teams are picked. Maybe they should just go over all the votes and maybe eliminate a few guys who are homer voting or are just too dumb to be included.

One thing that could really go in our favor is CP3 not making it. He almost surely re-signs with the clippers, had he made it. Now I wouldn't be surprised if he jumps on board the spurs. With Lowry and Paul on the market, that could really limit Hill's options if he wants to compete, which I think he does.
