And aren't you using "best season".

Ostertag's best season he averaged 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks in 24 mpg.

He shot 52% from the field and 67% from the FT line. He was a pretty good center that year.

He was pretty bad, but I remember he played a pretty big role defending Shaq. He had a few moments.

Yeah, he was inconsistent and didn't really care, but under WC's criteria, they are using best season. So ignore all the rest, he was a beast that 1 year.

I would also point out he was better in big moments and big games. WC would refer us to that video, but that doesn't constitute every other game, plus Carr was non existent before that game. In the finals.

The year Thee used in his write-up, Ostertag shot 48% from the field and 62% from the line.

This is why I don't think the NBA was necessarily better pre 2000's. There were some great stars, but the depth sucked. Especially for bigs.

Ostertag was the best the Jazz could find and he was dreadful. Cole Aldrich is sorta a similar player and is far more skilled, and he can't find a team to start him. There are good bigs all over the NBA now. The 90's Jazz would love to have had the choices of bigs there are now.

I'm fairly certain that Ostertag would have a hard time even making a roster in the current NBA.

But still, you hear just how great the NBA was, and how bad it is now. People don't realize jist how deep the league is now.

Pretty much this.

When I remember those great jazz teams greg foster and big dog come to my mind...... But not ostertag

You still voted for him lol.
Ya. Didn't really want to cause I hate tag and rj, but the Malone factor is strong.

I thought ellis team should have won it all though

The clear opinion is Malone #1 and WC has no one on his team that can even come close to guarding him.
