Team Tfivas:
PG - John Stockton / Derek Fisher / Keith McLeod
SG - Ronnie Brewer / Gordan Giricek
SF - Ty Corbin / C.J. Miles
PF - Thurl Bailey
C - Mehmet Okur / Greg Foster
Team Ellis269:
PG - Alec Burks / Devin Harris
SG - Jeff Hornacek / Joe Ingles
SF - DeMarre Carroll / Marvin Williams
PF - Derrick Favors / Danny Manning
C - Al Jefferson / Kosta Koufos
Tfivas' Case:
Stockton to the money man for threeeeeeee.
Ellis269's Case:
I'm going to use my best 5 in my starting lineup.
I feel like Burks, Hornacek, Carroll, Favors and Jefferson fits well together. Combined, they give me a group that can slash, shoot, play defense and man the post.
My goal was to put together a team that can play "Spurs basketball" and I feel like my starters and my bench fit well together. Some things aren't perfect fits, like starting and playing Burks primarily at the 1, but I'm not taking Hornacek off the floor long enough for Alec to get burn as a 6th man like he's best suited to do. I still think that he can play as 1, and complements Hornacek and Carroll well. Favors, Jefferson, Williams, Manning and Koufos is a really strong front court rotation. Jefferson might seem like a ball stopper and and fit, but the Spurs were one of the teams that was interested in him at the 2012 trade deadline.
When Horny needs a break, I'll go small ball and feature a lineup that has Burks, Jingles, Carroll, Williams and Favors. After that, the bulk of my team's remaining minutes will go to my bench players in their traditional roles and positions.
