2004 Olympic basketball

Ginobli leads Argentina with 29 points to a win over the USA team that had Tim Duncan, Dwayne Wade, Allen Iverson, Stephon Marbury, Lamar Odom, Amar'e Stoudemire, Carlos Boozer, and Richard Jefferson.

Ginobli's teamates.... Andres Nocioni and Luis Scola.

Lol wtf.

So some how Ginobili isn't great, but was able to lead his team of nobody's past all those players, granted, some of them young, but not Tim Duncan. And go on to win the Gold Medal.

LOL .. talk about intellectual dishonesty.

- You talk so much about floor spacing right? How many shooters did that USA team has? Marbury? Iverson? More so than the NBA you need shooters in International ball to stretch the defense to succeed and that 2004 USA team had none.

- How many point guard did they have? One. Marbury. LOL ...

- Then you have Larry Brown as the coach with Iverson as your starting SG jacking up shots. Enough said.

- That team was put together in something like 2 weeks going up against a well drilled Argentina team that had been playing together for years knowing each other inside out.

- A 1 game surprise defeat is hardly comparable to a 7-game series.

Argentina took advantage of the Perfect Storm that year and you know it. But let's forget about the context when trying to win an argument at all cost.

LMAO.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Just spouting off a bunch of dumb crap.

Tell me, who were the shooters that were so good on Argentina and we're better shooters than what team USA had?

Are you trying to say that Argentina had a better shooter on their team than Allen Iverson? You do know that he could shoot it really well right?

Also, why is it more important to have shooters in international basketball? What's the difference? Spell it out for me. I bet you cant.

Oh so Iverson is such a great 3 point shooter you had him on your "3 Pointers Dream Team" this year?

Well done getting kicked out in the 2nd round BTW. Great job for someone who talks so much ****. LOL ...

So you are comparing Carlos Arroyo to Manu Ginobili to help your argument?

Seriously?

What is the point of that anyways? Does Carlos Arroyo have any rings? Can you point to a time where Arroyo dominated in an NBA finals like I can point to Ginobili doing it in 05?

You really have no idea why I brought Arroyo up, do you?

You know you are horrible at arguing right?

I can beat anything you have to say. We can do this all day.

First of all, not having Iverson on my team doesn't mean he couldn't shoot. I can't draft every player who could shoot. You know that right?

Also, thanks for congratulating me on my early exit. But I've won this twice already. How many times have you won it? That's right, zero.

You really have no idea why I brought Arroyo up, do you?

Yes I do. Trust me. You have nothing on me.

You brought it up because he also led a team that beat USA.

But that doesn't mean ****. He never was anything the NBA. Ginobili was , and won rings, and dominated in the regular season, in the playoffs, and in the finals.

Got anything else smart guy?

Welp, looks like I'm gonna lose this one... well played Ellis... probably the best team built around Jordan I've ever seen.

Lots of good teams this year, I think many people are getting much better at this.

Can't wait for the Current Draft :)

My job here is done.

Kobe > Wade > Manu

Manu can't be built around, the other two players can. With that said, Manu could fit into the offense of essentially every NBA team ever, and he's as good of a third fiddle/6th man as they have ever come. Not Kobe level though. Offensive versatility is not the only metric that one should consider when assessing the skill of players.

With this said, I do find Dwyane Wade quite overrated.

Yup.

Pretty much everyone here can see this except Hack.

Good match. Definitely a solid all around team to go up against. Thanks for the compliments.

Lol.

One Love, White Chocolate, and Cunning Dummy, all liked your post that included saying Dwayne Wade was overrated.

Wade isn't overrated.

I don't have a problem with Kobe > Wade > Ginobili. Somebody has to be a little better. I'm just saying they are pretty close.

Also, a huge LOL at people who think Ginobili was a 6th man. He definitely wasn't the 6th best player on that team. He was brought off the bench strategically.

Dalamon, how old were you in 2005? 12? Did you even watch basketball then, or even play it, let alone understand it?

Why would you think you have a good grasp on how good Ginobli was. I'd be willing to bet you never seen him play at his best.

1. Lack of 3pt Makers = Lack of Spacing

Couldnt read the rest after this silly statement.

Beside that statement being wrong you would not leave Jordan, Pippen or Payton wide open at the three and not guard them so the spacing is fine. We are not talking about players who are not a threat to make open jump shots.

Secondly Jordan is much better than anyone else on the court and can will his team to wins. Duncan is great but no where near Jordans ability to take over a game and single handily win it.

Lol @ Hacl thinking me saying 6th man means I think he's the 6th best on his team. Did you not see the words "third fiddle" immediately preceding? He was obviously the 2nd best player on the 2005 team.
