Team Grayson's Hands:
PG - Gary Payton / Mark Price
SG - Dwyane Wade / Drazen Petrovic
SF - Grant Hill / Michael Finley
PF - Karl Malone / Elton Brand
C - Dikembe Mutombo / Robert Parish
Team Thee jazz fan:
PG - Oscar Robertson / Bob Cousy
SG - Joe Dumars / Tracy McGrady / Dale Ellis
SF - Dennis Rodman / Alex English
PF - Jermaine O’Neal / Jamal Mashburn
C - Hakeem Olajuwon
Grayson's Hands' Case:
I beat Thee 3-2 when it comes to starters but the margins are much higher than that.
Wade/Hill/Malone absolutely crush Dumars/Rodman/O’Neal
It’s not even close at all. It’s laughable that he would even start Dennis Rodman at SF and Jermaine O’Neal at PF in this matchup.
Mutombo and Olajuwon played each other 27 times in their careers. Here are their averages in those games:
Olajuwon is his best player and his calling card in this competition. Mutombo is my fifth best player and will limit him as much as it’s possible. Nobody is going to stop him but if Mutombo out-rebounds him while scoring 11 points to his 22 points per game my team will be in great shape.
Payton is one of the best defenders (if not the best) at PG this game has ever seen. He will be able to give Robertson problems.
My two best defenders (who both won DPOY a combined 5x) are at the same positions as his two best players.
My team is the worst possible matchup for Thee’s team in this thing.
Thee jazz fan’s Case:
My team has better pedigree, more rings, more finals mvp’s more regular season mvp’s. This is a team built to be successful in a playoff setting like this. What I’m trying to say is my team is more likely to make more winning plays down the stretch in 4th quarter.
Olajuwon will guard Malone at all times.
Rodman, will mainly guard Hill and start atsf but also play pf
Down the stretch lineup in 4th quarters.
Oscar Robertson
Joe Dumars
TMac
Dennis Rodman
Hakeem Olajuwon
O’Neal will start at pf but play backup minutes and also play backup Center
TMac will come off the bench, but play starter minutes playing both sf and sg
My team will dominate in rebounding with Rodman starting at sf, three guys in the starting lineup that averaged 10+ rebounds
Karl Malone will be guarded at all times by one of the top two or three rim protectors at all times. Hakeem’s length and athleticism will bother The Mail man.
Also, Rodman will guard Multiple positions, but his main responsibility will be to pester and harass Grant Hill. Rodman will have him off his game all game long, so Rodman is going to start at sf, he will also spend time on Mutombo.
O’Neal finds himself in a starting role at pf, he’ll be able to guard Mutombo, and have an early exit in the first quarter as he will also be backing up at center
Dumars will have the task of stopping Wade and will be playing both sg and pg as he’sdone both through his career.
McGrady and English coming off the bench is a dynamic duo on offense. McGrady and Ellis will provide the spacing English needs to operate in the midrange, his midrange game can’t be stopped, and is deadly.
Mashburn and Cousy will be used sporadically when we want to change pace and go small. Cousy is the type of guy I can bring into a game to breath life back into my offense if my team struggles. This playmaking dynamo will put on anentertaining playmaking performance creating easy looks for my bench.
