Team gandalfe:

PG - Allen Iverson / Jeff Hornacek
SG - Jerry West / Darrell Griffith
SF - James Worthy / Alex English
PF - Bob Pettit / Dolph Schayes
C - Bill Russell / DeAndre Jordan

Team White Chocolate:

PG - John Stockton / Baron Davis
SG - Paul Pierce / Andre Iguodala
SF - Scottie Pippen / Carmelo Anthony
PF - Charles Barkley / Derrick Coleman
C - Alonzo Mourning / Marcus Camby

gandalfe's Case:

Anchored by possibly the greatest winner in sports history, Bill Russell, who won 11 rings over a 13 year career and revolutionized the game with his defense. They didn't count blocks during his career, or else he would likely be one of the top shot blockers of all time. Quite simply, he made every one on his team better. He was no slouch at scoring in the post either, averaging 15.1 PPG and an astonishing 22.5 RPG. Backed up by bangers (Deandre Jordan, Bob Petit, and Dolph Schayers) this is one of the most fearsome front courts in the game. Combined with the raw scoring ability of Allen Iverson and the shooting and vision of Jeff Hornacek and Jerry West, as well and an inside/outside trio of the Golden Griff, Big Game James, and Alex English, they will surely follow player/coach Russell to an early victory. Remember, there were only 2 seasons out of 13 that Bill DIDN'T win a championship.

Your spacing is awful.

How?

Pierce is a 40%+ shooter from 3, Stockton was well in the 40's from 3, Pippen is respectable from 3. Barkley and Zo both had nice mid-range games. Carmelo and Iguodala off the bench can stretch the floor.

That was a dumb post.

Awful was an exaggeration, but it's not good.

Stock and Pierce are the only ones that are good shooters in your starting lineup.

Your bench is aight.

Mourning, Barkley, and Coleman would kill each other at practice--literally, so I think WC would only have 7 players suit up for the game.

Gotta give it to gandalfe. I love what he did with an Allen Iverson team.

I'm trying not to do the "well he played in the 50s so therefore his athleticism sucks" thing in my head and just go by who has the advantage in positions. At least that's how I'm approaching this. Your approach may differ.

In this case I gave the edge to WC in the PFs and SFs, and gave the edge to Gandolfe in the SGs and Cs. The PGs to me were a wash, so it was almost a coin flip. Still, I would rather have a team with Barkley/Stockton/Pippen than one with Russell/Iverson/West. Not by much, but enough to get my meaningless vote.

I like teh offensive versatility WC gave himself by getting Stockton, Pierce, Melo, and Barkley. Pretty well-rounded roster overall.
