And I laugh that anyone thinks other people necessarily should see things the way they do. It's not that clear cut. Personally, I think you and others are way overselling Biyombo, but I can see why you'd disagree. I'm guessing as well that GMs are not of one mind about this either.

Personally, I see Biyombo as a project who will have about as much impact on the league as, say, DeSagana Diop.

I admit, though, I may very well be wrong.

Truth is we need MORE than we likely can get for this year; we SHOULD get better this year, but we're looking at a 2-year or more project before we sniff an NBA finals. It starts at the TOP, and I'm hopeful Greg Miller, Kevin O'Connor, and Ty Corbin buy into the philosophy used in Dallas as described in this article. Being WILLING TO CHANGE AND KNOWING WHAT TO CHANGE WHEN, for each upcoming game AND even as a game is going on, are HUGE. It starts with the staff, but the PLAYERS have to buy into it, and NOT whine about their minutes. WINNING games is the goal, not MINUTES. I can't emphasize this enough; the supposedly superior Heat were a step behind after game 3 and totally out-coached in this series!!
