An uproar on China's biggest basketball website targets Donovan Mitchell

Good. Mitchell way too nice to fans as is. He should tell some of them to **** off.
Yep. Don’t apologize. It never solves the issue. Just approach it differently next time.

Silver lining - anything that highlights just how much we love having him in Utah and appreciate him, his mom and his sister is good. Even though it sucks that it happened. . . it’s not home.

New info on the Donovan's scandal... this is getting WILD... in an unexpected direction:
Here's a new post on reddit that is saying the whole thing was a conspiracy manufactured by a local businessman who was butthurt by Mitchell not signing a jersey for him:

Donovan Mitchell's IG being mean to Chinese people is a FAKE POST!

His IG post was from LAST YEAR and those fans were actually waiting for T-MAC for about AN HOUR! It looks like some people were intentionally faking the narratives to harm Mitchell's image.

Hu-Pu (the China NBA forum) came out with a post about how Mitchell was mocking the Chinese fans and didn't want to give autographs when he was in a hotel during his recent trip to China. The information was corrected by other users in these following posts: https://m.hupu.com/bbs/28465612.html
and https://bbs.hupu.com/28464492.html
(sorry, they're all in Chinese lol). These posts mainly repeated the information that I stated above and also pointed out that the op came from some local spots clothing businessman that were trying to hurt Mitchell's image.

I'm from Taiwan and a big Donny fan. I'm not saying a 23 year kid won't make any mistakes, however this is simply fake news. Considering how often he walks the extra mile just to sign a few more photographs to fans, this fake news just make me really sad :(.

And now the thread has been deleted by reddit mods. WTF?

China rounds up dogs in trucks and take them to places to be killed and prepares them to be eaten by their people. Sounds normal

Big plot twist here. Apparently that vid was from last year and some Chinese sports businessmen were harassing Mitchell's family for an autograph so they could flip a jersey. He said no, and they put this video out there to ruin his reputation.

So it apparently all started with one Chinese fan thinking the word "chilling" as the same thing as "ch in k". I mean, just WTF??? I thought they do teach English at schools in China...

And that crazy Chinese fan was hanging out in the hotel like a paparazzi till 11pm at night just waiting for DM to arrive. And when DM finally does come back to the hotel, that fan starts harassing his mom and sister in the hope of getting his autographs. Just some real creepy **** right there.

So don't apologize for anything, Donovan. Instead, he and Adidas together need to make an official statement to clear all those false accusations. Those people need to get the rightful punishment that they deserve.

So the hupu threads slandering Donovan have been deleted and people in the new threads are calling on people to apologize to him. Unfortunately the damage may have already been done, but at least the truth is out there now. The Instagram story is 100% from last year and not from his recent China tour.
