I noticed this too. He gets more people in the air on the fakes than anyone I have seen lately. Very good pump fake.

Fakes, they ROCK, eh, Scorp!? Deron relies heavily on fakes, and Bobby Knight done said the "fake pass" is the most under-used tool in the game.

Which just happens to be about where Boozer was when he came over. His stellar carrer 2.5apg average only started to rise while playing in the Jazz's unselfish system. I have a really hard time thinking that Jefferson won't improve 200%+ in that category once he learns the offense.

When the ball goes inside, I want a 5 who can take it to the hoop and score or get fouled. You may also want to note that Jefferson's assist totals have increased each year. Last season he was up to 1.8. For comparison, here are some other 5's and their assist numbers for 2009-10:

I didn't go through the whole list, but you can see Jefferson is certainly not the "black hole" he's made out to be. You have a few great passing big men, like Duncan and Pau. I hesitate to put David Lee in that category due to him playing in D'Antoni's run and gun where poinst and assists are inflated. After the top 3, there a bunch more grouped right together. I mean is 2.4/per significantly higher than 1.8? I'll give Big Al the benefit of the doubt here. When he gets the ball, I WANT him to go strong to the hoop. I also think that in Utah's offense, he'll have a better chance of finding a cutter off the double team.
Big Al will be great for the team yes he shots a ton but hes always been the main go to guy and he hasnt had a player like dwill there will be some adjustments but he will be an allstar and I really like how our bigs our lining up. memo playing with Millsap or Jefferson will be awesome open it up for them to do there work while Memos making it rain!!

Agree, juds. Jefferson is a much better complement to Memo and Millsap than Boozer was. Carlos' game was the fadeaway jumper. Millsap's game is the mid-range shot (and crashing the glass). Jefferson's game is down low. He'll be the presence we need inside, while allowing Millsap or Okur to operate in that 12-15 ft. range (or in Memo's case, out to the 3). Okur tried to develop an inside game, but we all saw it was pretty awkward last season. Now he won't be expected to take it to the hoop - that will be Jefferson's job.
I think Al will learn to pass it to a cutter or throw it out to Paul, Raja or Deron if he's doubled. Once the Jazz have had a couple of months to gel, this team is gonna be scary good.
