Andrew Wiggins = the next Kobe Bryant

Wiggins will never be the basketball automaton that Kobe is.

Say what you want about Bryant; but no player on earth has been driven to be the best like he has with the exception of maybe MJ and Pistol Pete.
Does Pistol Pete deserve to be in this conversation or is that a joke?

I don't particularly care for this comparison tbh. There's just some stark differences in their skill-sets, and thankfully their mindsets, also positionally they're different, Wiggins is much more equipped to handle the SF position, on a nightly basis in today's NBA.. ((The Lakers are better off letting Russell have the green light than Kobe - They're tough to watch, absolutely atrocious on defense, especially closing out on 3's..))

In HS Wiggins was big and athletic enough to function as a bigman vs high-level competition, he was his teams best rim protector.. I watched Kobe as a rookie but not in HS, I was in elementary school at that point, I understand he played on the wing though..

Wiggins is going to be great though, might take a few years for his FG% to catch up to his overall game, Towns presence makes things much easier for him.

Despite how his name was dragged thru the mud here in the 2014 draftee's thread, Wiggins was still the most hyped HS player since Greg Oden, and before that LeBron James, somehow context like that gets thrown under the bus, because people wanna play favorites..

Its still mind-blowing to me that the Cavs traded him. Doesn't make any sense, They felt that strongly they needed to upgrade from Tristan Thompson, who then gets signed to a $82,000,000 deal..

Does anyone here actually still think Jabari or Embiid will be better than Wiggins?? At this point in time I don't know how you could even make that argument

If you read his biography his dedication to perfecting his game bordered on psychotic.

I never said he achieved "best ever" status - but I don't think you'll find many people who've outworked him.

If The Cavs don't win it all this year and LeBron jets from Cleveland again, that will probably go down as one of the worst trades in NBA history.

It was terrible move regardless. On so many levels.

I don't see Lebron leaving Cleveland under any circumstances. That's where he is for the rest of his career imo. I don't think he'd dare leave again.

I never thought Jabari would be BETTER than Wiggins, but had a chance to be as good. I always felt that Wiggins was the more sure bet, but there was a chance that Jabari might be good as well.

Embiid probably did too, but he might never even play. Who knows.

I totally agree on the Cavs trading Wiggins. It was horrible.

However, if LeBron says to the Cavs "I will sign with you on one condition, that you trade Wiggins for Kevin Love" Do you do it just to get LeBron? I say yes, sign LeBron, and then keep Wiggins and tell LeBron to shut the hell up and win five championships in a row with the next Scottie Pippen.

Interesting. I never read his bio but I think I will now. I had no idea.
