My wife is actually struggling with an ankle injury currently. She was walking down her dad's stairs and he has those metal edges and they were icy. She slipped and her left leg stayed under her when the right flew out, and she slammed down on the steps. She still gives me shot because I ran inside to get something for her before we headed to tthe hospital and it took a little longer cause I had to DVR the Jazz game. This was on November 29th of last year, and here we are, still battling it. We've seen a specialist and she was in physical therapy for about a month, but due to me not having a job at the time and current insurance prices, we are still trying to figure out what to do. Originally, it was a sprain, deep tissue and ligament tear and she tore a tendon. That has all healed, but the specialist we saw believes she has Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, a condition without cure where the nerves do not shut off, and she is in constant pain. Her family doctor believes it may be Tarcel Tunnel, the leg/ankle equivalent to carpel tunnel. We are currently filling out some forms to attempt to get her financial aid through Intermountain Health Care where they will pay for anything, but we are still not completely sure what is wrong and what needs to be done. This happened right after we were married and she feels terrible because I'm the only one working and we're struggling. I simply want my lively and energetic wife back, we both miss it. Best of luck to you in your recovery/whatever you have done. I hope we are fortunate as well.
