Another Boozer trade Rumor(I actually like it)

At worst, Portland as 2 awesome basket-protectors/rebounders. At best, Utah has... maybe one (can Millsap be given the title of a basket-protector?)? There's a lot of wash in that lineup, Portland has A TON more options/depth, though, and having interior defense vs. not is a hell of a tie-breaker.

Well, I like Gortat... the VC expiring looks promising, but we would have to get rid of AK to do that. That means we have to potentially get rid of 2 pf, and get a sf and c back.

This rumor is flat out inconceivable. The only way it would make any sense is if it was Boozer AND AK. I can sort of see that, but not for the guys Orlando is sending back. All KOC has to remember is Otis Smith is the desperate one here, AND he's got a spending problem. Guys like that you make twist in the wind, especially since Booze is going to be getting other offers. Eventually, Smith will cave to the idea of Boozer getting a 6 year offer, Booze wants to be in Florida, anyway, and Smith will fork over whatever the Jazz want to keep up with the Joneses.

The cap/luxury tax situation is that the Jazz simply can't afford Boozer, so getting players back in a sign-and-trade only works if they also move AK or Okur. If they're not getting a legitimate asset back, I'm not sure why they would be willing to pay the tax.

Also, comparing the Utah Jazz and the Portland Trailblazers from '79 is essentially a wash. When you consider the money the Blazers have spent on their roster, you could easily make the argument the Utah front office has had more success given their resources. Regardless, a "Jazz fan" claiming Portland is a vastly superior franchise is bizarre. I think Mambo should go to a Blazers message board.

This is easily the lamest thread I've ever seen on the internet, excluding the Boozer-to-the-Magic part. Everyone that's been participating in this pathetic little Blazers vs Jazz argument, I have one word for you: seppuku.

That said, I'd freak out if the Jazz took Carter's deal. I'd probably take the year off from following basketball.

I don't know if it's already been said but hoopshype has now reported that Orlando wants nothing to do with Carlos Boozer

Well I mean isnt that the main goal of an NBA Franchise? to be the best and win a ring?

I mean hell if Milwaukee/Bullets/Warriors can do it why cant we?

Wow, they all won rings in the Carter and Nixon administrations. Amazing and totally relevant to anything.

Guess what, the Kings won a championship as the Rochester Royals. What an amazing f'ing achievement for them.
