Another Computer Question

He just needs to make sure that his computer as well as video card have a SPDIF pass through or there will be no audio...

Good point, the comp and card have to be able to handle this and it has to be set up in sound profiles of the OS (can set it to SPDIF interface). Most cards that provide an HDMI output are set up that way, then just the computer and OS would be the issues.

Thank you. Log, you're alright. Im glad we have bonded in this thread.

One option you could consider is getting a PS3. With PS3 media server you can stream stuff through your wireless network your PS3 that is hooked up to your tv. Also it has a browser, Blu-Ray and video games.

PS3 MediaServer is also free software and one of the easiest setups ever.

I did a setup similar to this for a car dealership. Just ran an AV + Audio cable through the walls and into their lobby's TV. It worked out pretty well. He displays all of his nifty cars and auctions on there.

This is also true and a good idea.

You know your ****...that is a fantastic DVD player. I've installed it before.

Did you see the next one they have slated to come out soon? Check their website. It has all of the features of the 93 plus full 7.1 channel analog outs for high-end audio (for my yamaha) and better streaming functionality and the 3d functionality, top-end encoding/decoding hardware, really the best of anything you can find anywhere else. Absolutely bad-***. And rumor has it all for about the same $500 bucks with the 93 dropping in price. My guess though is about $800 and well worth every penny, if that sort of thing matters to you. And it does to me.
