I hate saying it because I wish it weren't true. But I think it is true. I would love to say that hey getting a few old guys makes us sudden awesome contenders for the throne, but it doesn't. Maybe if everyone else falls down then a modest rise by us equals a larger differential, but this take on it is far more realistic than "we are the 2nd best team in the west because some guy guessed we will be" then sticking to that mantra like your life depended on it. I would be shocked and thrilled if we win 45 games this year. That is the truth of it. Hell I would love to see us win 60 or even get close enough that we all are discussing if we will hit that or not at the end of the season. I just don't think what we added is enough to get us there. 45 is probably our ceiling this year.

But you keep drinking the kool-aid. That way you can continue your record of pithy one-line come-backs and smug insults rather than putting any thought to anything. Wouldn't want (expect) you do make that much effort.

You're not likely to get anywhere with this, and what difference will it really make if you do? Look back at his history in prior years. He's a pessimist, and he enjoys being a pessimist. Just feel fortunate that you don't share such a gloomy outlook, and then move on.

Yeah, I know. It's just frustrating. He gets mad at people who don't provide arguments and just "insult him" but when someone gives an argument he completely ignores them.

So I disagree that the moves we made this summer do much to make us better and it means my entire record on this forum is nothing but pessimism? Can you make a more stupid assumption? You obviously weren't paying attention last summer, or the summer before, or.... Nevermind. Not sure you're capable of rational thought so I'm just wasting my time on this one.

I've only been here since June. Haven't seen anything you've said but pessimistic comments. I'm sure you're not a pessimist at heart, but you sure have been one lately. No need to insult me.

Hill and JJ as just some old guys

45 wins as our ceiling. 45, a number he'd be 'shocked and thrilled' to see the team achieve........ (later he would predict 45 wins for the year, if all the stars aligned).
