What's new

Another somewhat convoluted proposal

Exactly.
I wouldn't expect them to feel sorry for me.

Strange that you would expect me to feel sorry for people that I'm extremely envious of.

Envy and pity don't really work together very well.

Btw, if that happened in my next union contract then I would quit and get a different job. NBA players would have that option too in this scenario but I highly doubt any would actually find a new job cause they would realize that they are still extremely lucky and have it really good.

Take the same example from JTT and add that you will be getting paid double what you are now. Are you still going to quit? I wouldn't think so.

Fish. Attitudes like yours are what leads to the divide in people. You're basically saying you don't care what happens to other people as long as it doesn't effect you.

Nah, you are wrong here. I would feel sorry for lebron if his kid died.
I care what happens to other people.

If someone said to me that they would pay me tons of money to play basketball with the stipulation that I don't get to choose my team then I think that would be awesome. If someone felt sorry for me for that reason then I would think they were an idiot.

Do you feel sorry for jazz players who don't get to wear headbands? Other players get to but not jazz players. That just ain't right.

What about rookies who don't get to choose where they play?

How about military who don't get to choose where they get to live?

What about byu students who have to adhere to the honor code?

If your bleeding heart bleeds so badly for nba basketball players them I may assume you ate perpetually sad for damn near everyone in the world who has it worse than them.

Or we can just keep on villifying rich people because they're rich and we're not.
Villifying, like slavery, is another poor choice of words.
Nobody is Villifying them.

Your bleeding heart again blowing things out of preportion

The hypothetical being discussed involved changing the CBA. One of the opposing viewpoints was that it wouldnt work because that would be taking away rights.

So if i understand you correctly, you feel that if one knows what they are getting into when they sign up for it, it's all good- again provided it is part of the CBA.

If it's hypothetical I'm assuming the players agreed to it since it's now in the CBA, so then that would be OK.

I don't think the player would ever agree to it though.

Again, your chief concern for not caring is that they make a lot of money. I think that's wrong.

As for the draft, the players and team have to reach a compromise for what's fair for both of them. That's why we have the draft. Taking away free agency only benefits one group, and that's the owners. Does that make sense to you?
Your first paragraph is incorrect. It's not just that they make lots of money. I love playing basketball. That's a pretty kick *** occupation on top of the money imo.

I think your second paragragh is untrue. (I could be wrong) There is a set salary structure. The players and team don't have to reach a compromise.

This is stupid. I'm repeating the same thing over and you don't actually understand what I'm trying to say. Forget it.
Good call. Agreed.
You would feel sorry them. I wouldn't. That's ok.

I did feel sorry for lebron when his property was vandalized last week though.

Not gonna feel sorry if lebrons employer makes changes he doesn't like though. He can play basketball for some other employer or change professions.
I thought it sucked when the nba enforced a dress code. Didn't feel sorry for the players though.

My employer makes changes to my job that I don't like all the time. I can quit just like nba players can.

Is this argument still going on? Or am i so tired from lack of sleep I've started hallucinating?

I think it's done.
Get some sleep dude

I think it's done.
Get some sleep dude

I wish! I'm at work now got three more nights to go, still can't sleep more than two or three hours a day. Picked a great time to give up coffee, sugar and cigarettes. Maybe I should get on to heroin? I hear its moreish...
