Well yeah, when your main source of nutrients is basically just corn..... doesn't work too well.
Much like our food supply of today, that is made primarily from corn.
And stripped of almost all nutrients in processing.

Stellar anthropology going on in here. So, reconstructing the Aztecs...

Mesopotamia was once a jungle of orange trees and the population flourished, but the orange trees would no longer thrive after centuries of growing the same crops in the same soils. The orange trees began being replaced with Maize, causing a vitC deficiency and the rapid (almost instantaneous) death of the region.

Depends. I will not drink a beer that has been made out of anything grown in the dirt. Do you have any idea how much fluoridated water has seeped into the ground over the years? Not to mention the water that's IN the beer. You're asking for a death sentence if you drink that swill.
