Any scuba divers?

How were the National Geographic underwater women? Did you go there yet?

haha, unfortunately it was too windy so we went to a different reef. Sadly, most of the reef was dead except for the "offlimits" area. That sculpture park was intended as a solution to the recovery of the reef.

I spent a month in Utila diving in the bay islands of Honduras. Really nice balance of fish and coral- cheep diving as well. You can fly into san pedro sula and catch a boat over like stoked mentioned. Roatan is more popular, but Utila is a unique experience as there are no cars alowed on the island so people drive around in golf carts and scooters. More of a backpacker scene than a family scene...but that was 7 years ago.

I certified about ten years ago then went on a cruise and dove in Grand Cayman, Honduras, Belize and somewhere in Mexico. Before certifying I dove in Hawaii and Cancun. Mexico diving sucks, at least the two places I went. In either Honduras or Belize (forget which one) we saw a hammerhead (well, everyone else saw it and kept pointing at it but I never actually saw it). The guide, who'd been doing it for 15 years, said he'd never seen one before that.

Anyhow, taking the fam to Hawaii in a month and I'm making my wife dive. My favorite dive was actually my first dive ever in Hawaii (circa '99) with the turtles. The kids will also snorkel in Hanauma Bay.

Have a blast and be safe. Be sure to make your wife feel 100% safe and it'll be fun, otherwise, hell for both of you.
