Any theories for bad Jazz performances with plenty of rest?

He's been consistent for the past 10 games. First 10 games, he scored 13 or under 4 times. Everyone was complaining about Hayward not bringing it, and others were reminding them that Hayward always takes a while to get going (i.e. inconsistent). Last season he played very well for the most part, the previous season he did not.

Hayward is very good, but historically, he has not been specially consistent. 10 games is too small a sample to change a long historical trend.

Yeah, like I said, 3 of those 4 games where the first 3 games of the season. So he has scored under 13 once in the last 17 games.

Everyone was complaining = the people who always complain about things when they arent going perfectly for a 1 game stretch and think Hayward should be Lebron James (even Lebron has bad games though).

This season he has been our most consistent player. Last he was our most consistent player. He has been a really consistent player under Snyder. That is the trend. He is consistent.

Ya I agree. He'll always give a good effort, even if his shot isn't falling or if things are not going his way. Favors is more inconsistent and will have very quiet games where he scores 6 points and is completely invisible.

Yes, exactly. I'm not saying Hayward is the most consistent player in the NBA, but for the Jazz it's not even a debate IMO.
 
My 2 cents? Hayward has been consistent.

Almost without fail when I have bet on Hayward to go over his line on whatever stat, I have won money.

Whenever I have stupidly bet the under, like last night, I have lost money
 
I agree with Cy, overall Hayward has been the most consistent, steadying influence on the team. He's always the guy the team looks to for leadership, to get that big basket. There have been games when his shot is not falling, and I would agree that his shooting is not consistent, but his overall play, defense, team leadership, playmaking, rebounding, yes, consistent.
 
I agree with Cy on this one. I don't think there are many small forwards that have been more consistent, in terms of production, this year than Hayward.

you didn't say he was "the most consistent player on the jazz." You said he was "consistent," end of comment. There's a difference, guy. I agree with the first quote. I don't agree with the second. Consistent is a relative term, so it bloody matters what you make it relative to.

Hayward is trying to do something very few can do: lead a team while being consistent.
 
I'll re-join the OP:

the problem is inconsistent players, in general. The inconsistency in the starting lineup is most troubling.
