Anything is Possible Now

I don’t really want Durant. As awesome as he is, he’s also almost 34 and has a recent Achilles injury in his profile.

Jazz should prioritize putting together an asset package so that when a young, and disgruntled wing demands to be traded they have the best trade package to offer.

If Gobert set the floor and Mitchell set the ceiling, they might be positioning to tank with Donovan and see if they can be a contender nearer to the end of Don’s deal.

I don’t like it, but it is hard to find legit, premier scorers and we currently have a young one under a real contract. I do not endorse this but I can see it if I squint enough.

This is where I’m at. I think as Jazz fans, we’re a little too close to the situation to see it clearly enough and we all have a little Donovan fatigue. In reality, he might be worth building around from here on out.

The dude is a 25 year old guard who can drop 35+ in big playoff moments pretty consistently. If we hit the reset button on a complete rebuild, how many draft picks do we spend on trying to find a scorer of Donovan’s ilk?

I look at it like this: We know what we have (and what we don’t) in Donovan. Now we have plenty of assets to try and assemble the remainder of a team around his strengths and weaknesses. It might not sound like the sexiest solution but might be the best one. ‍
