What's new

Game Thread Apr 10, 2021 07:00PM MT: Jazz vs. Kings

Added to Calendar: 04-10-21

Rudy had a couple of huge blocks in the fourth that essentially sealed the victory. I hope we don't see his frustration boil over with lack of touches this year have an effect on his defense like last year, although I'd personally understand if it did. He was open so many times last night and guys just made no effort to get it to him. We need to make a conscious effort to get him the ball when he's so damn open.

The thing that caps it off for me was Ingles fighting him for a rebound and costing the Jazz a possession.

I agree with the theory but we see a whole lot of alley oop passes then end up going awry. And those are just the ones Conley and Mitchell decide to throw. Really not a strength of either of them. I guess it’s their height?

There are definitely players in the league who could in theory throw Rudy 5 good alley oops a game, but I don’t think one of them is on our team.

And with all that said. Rudy’s hands still aren’t all that.

Again I acknowledge we won the game but perhaps Quin could call a time out or go to Mike and DM and say hey give Rudy a few passes. Another complaint is that when someone like Royce , Niang or Oni are struggling with their shooting why not try a Brantley or Hughes to see if they can actual make a bucket. 1 out of 21 and you are still playing. I know that Royce does other things like rebound but he could do that on the second Unit. I have no doubt that Hughes could have better numbers than Oni. Oni shot is flat and that is why he struggles with the 3 pt and he seems limited in creating offense in other ways. He was 1-7 and Rudy gets 2 shots and makes both of them. Just seems like this could become a problem if it continues being so unbalanced with shot opportunities. Personally I think Rudy should get between 8-12 shots per game considering his percentage. I also do not know why Rudy doesn't shoot a few 3pts he couldn't do worse than Royce or Oni.

I wish Oni had freedom to do more, he hustles and brings that grit needed. Bojan should get benched come the playoffs and only be utilized if he hits a few shots if not let him ride the pine, he is a huge liability

Oni plays because he does a good job on defense, rebounds and hustles. And he shoots 37 percent from 3. We have no idea how Hughes would look on d, in preseason he looked quite lost out there. And so far he hasn't even shined in g league. I like his potential, his shot looks nice but I think he has a lot to learn yet. And Royce is a proven spot up shooter so how do you want him to get out of the slump if not by shooting?

As long as the opposing team feels Royce is worthy of a defender, he's earning his position, even during a (still relatively small) slump.
I'm not sure the other team does feel royce is worthy of a defender since he seems to be wide open quite often.
I think the other team hopes that royce will shoot it when he gets the ball. I know I would if I were the opponent.

Raul Neto had a nice game for the Wiz last night 24 points. He will come in with his hair on fire.
