That was the most embarrassing defense I've seen on a final possession in a long time.

The fact that he's considered a good defender should alone be enough for Gobert's DPOY case.

In a game where we have Ilyasova, Bojan, and Clarkson on the court, the Lakers targetted Royce on the game's most important possession. They saw how having him try to defend guards single-handedly tanked our defense in the playoffs and erased all the good we had done that series.

Royce should be embarrassed, but given how terrified he is of shooting a wide open shot nowadays, I think he's just mentally broken.
