Game Thread Apr 18, 2022 06:30PM MT: Jazz at Mavericks - Game 2

I keep thinking a switch is going to be flipped. Stupid me

A switch gets flipped every game. At the beginning of the 4th quarter they turn off their motion offense and their perimeter D.

It a non sense to blame Rudy for the loss. He was not perfect, far from it but not that bad. And what about Mike poor play, Don zero defense..... tonight Bogda, O Neal and Clarkson did the job, but the other have to be much better.

I still can't get over the fact that the Mavs ran the same play over and over and over and over again, and the Jazz couldn't seem to counter it. How does that happen to a professional basketball team?

As is Rudy's inability to play offense. But the board is torn here.
I don't think anyone thinks Rudy is a superstar. But we don't see many bigs going off for career highs and record scoring binges in the playoffs, do we?

Gobert was pretty bad tonight...but holy ****, he wasn't the only one.

I mean, who was good for the Jazz tonight?
Most of Gobert's badness came in the 1st quarter. Outside of that he was dominating the glass, which is the only thing that kept Utah in this game.

The coach has zero answers. And again the FO knew that perimeter D was our biggest issue for THREE YEARS!! and did ****-all about it.

and anyone mentioned how our starting point guard fail to score any point in a playoff game?

I thought only Ben Simmons is capable of achieving this feat in modern day NBA
Yes i told it from the beginning of the game. Mike really sucks tonight. And Quinn benched him early does not help him to find the rythm...

Yep true we like paying one dimensional players so much money that get exploited in the playoffs that can't create their own offense. Wonderful
If you think Rudy is the one that got exploited, you didn't understand what you were watching.

and somehow people kept feeding on the Don/Rudy drama. even if we got our two stars working together, you simply cannot go far when supposedly the "third star" on your team plays like this.

I see a pattern developing here.
2020: Jazz blow a 3-1 lead in the playoffs, lose series in 7 games
2021: Jazz blow a 2-0 lead in the playoffs, lose series in 6 games
2022: Jazz blow a 1-0 lead in the playoffs, lose series in 5 games?

these guys need to drink a case of Modelo beer, maybe it will give them that fighting spirit or at least make them believe they have it
